Many enterprises need to transform their IT infrastructure to achieve their digital transformation goals, so they can handle the extreme amount of data and network traffic produced by modern application workloads. They need a universal data management layer in a multicloud environment that is a cloud-agnostic system and converged by design, so they can provide instant outcomes to their customers.
We’re continuing on our mission to help enterprises globally manage all of their data across on-premises and public clouds. Today we released Automatrix™, a secure multicloud data platform that delivers compute and primary storage, backup and disaster recovery as well as encryption and data mobility from the same software-defined converged infrastructure. By converging these five core functions in a single platform, we provide a consistent experience across on-premises and public clouds, cost-efficient multicloud workload portability, and simple and efficient management of operating tasks.
ControlShift is the first generally available data management application in the Automatrix platform. ControlShift provides simple and failproof DR. It powers the world’s easiest, fastest data mobility orchestration including workflow automation for zero-RTO disaster recovery optimized for VMware Cloud DR and frictionless workload portability between clouds. It will be followed by applications for analytics, compliance and search.
We also announced that we’ll offer even more data services on Amazon Web Services (AWS) within one year, including primary storage that uses the capacity in Datrium Cloud DVX, and we’ll port to Microsoft Azure in 2020. Plus, Cloud DVX now delivers unparalleled performance at petabyte scale – it’s 40x bigger.
We published The State of IT Transformation report, which details the findings of a recent industry survey of 540 IT professionals and shows how companies are still struggling to implement a multicloud strategy. This report includes stats on how companies plan to:
- Increase IT transformation investment over the next five years
- Address challenges caused by the exponential growth of data including application performance deficiencies
- Spend more time on strategic initiatives by simplifying and automating routine IT tasks
We launched a refresh of our brand. As the Datrium business evolves and grows – entering new markets, solving bigger problems, and helping our customers seize exciting opportunities – it’s essential that the Datrium brand grow with it.
